What is Timber Joinery?

Timber joinery covers internal and external elements made from solid wood or timber veneer. We focus on timber only. No aluminium joinery. No painted flat panel doors. No hardware supply in the base scope. Every piece follows approved shop drawings with tight tolerances for fit, performance, and a consistent finish.

Doors

We build doors to plan, finish them in-house, and deliver them ready to install. Formats cover hinged, French, bifold, and sliding. Standard thickness sits between 38 and 45 mm, with profiles to suit heritage or modern work. We apply stain or clear two-pack polyurethane in our spray booth. Exterior sets leave prepped for seals, thresholds, and glazing. We do not supply painted flat panels. Grain selection, moisture checks, and documented tolerances guide each build. We apply the final coat in-house for an even sheen and durable protection.

Windows

We use joinery-grade timber with weather-ready details that align to NZ standards. Types cover casement, awning, sash, and fixed units. Jambs follow the drawings, with typical linings between 18 and 25 mm. Sill profiles suit the cladding and flashing design. We add draught seals at key points and offer IGU, Low E, and safety glass. External sets reference NZS 4211 where specified. Accurate machining keeps frames square and plumb. We back-prime and seal risk areas where the design calls for it. Finishing happens in-house, and we test-fit before dispatch.

Stairs

We produce solid timber stairs with clean geometry and compliant details. Scope covers treads, risers, stringers, landings, and handrails with balustrade components. Options include nosing profiles and slip ratings, with hidden fixings where design allows. Units arrive pre-finished for a fast, tidy install. Shop drawings set rise, going, headroom, and fix points. We check moisture and stability before assembly, then sand and seal on our finishing line. Packed kits protect edges and speed handling on site.

The right benchtop depends on the environment and how it will be used. We work with stone, stainless steel, acrylic, HPL, and timber to suit design and durability needs. We’re happy to recommend options once project specifications are confirmed.

Yes, we can match veneer joinery to flooring or other timber elements. Our in-house team takes care to align grain, tone, and finish across surfaces for a cohesive final look.

We recommend hardwoods and other timbers that handle moisture and weather well, such as cedar or accoya. We’ll guide you based on your location, finish preference, and performance requirements.

Samples can be reviewed at our Christchurch premises. Once we’ve reviewed your plans or quote request, we can provide guidance on what to view and compare.

We support design detailing after a quote has been accepted. While we are not a design service, we work closely with clients/architects and contractors to finalise specifications and material selections.

Project timelines are defined once a quote is accepted. We work with clients to plan around construction programmes, school breaks, or staged rollouts as needed.
