What is Education & School Fitouts?

Education and school fit-outs involve designing and installing interior joinery tailored for learning environments. This includes everything from student storage and resource cabinetry to teaching stations and wet areas. JB Joinery delivers purpose-built school furniture that NZ institutions rely on for safety, durability, and long-term value.

Reception Desks & Sign-In Areas

First impressions matter in education spaces. We manufacture custom-built reception counters and sign-in units that are accessible, hardwearing, and easy to clean. Designed for regular use by students, staff, and visitors, each piece is built to specification and finished in-house for consistency

Teaching Stations & Whiteboards

Teaching stations form the anchor point of modern classrooms. We produce custom cabinetry to support technology, whiteboards, storage, and mobility, allowing teachers to manage materials efficiently. Each station is tailored to suit classroom layout, teaching style, and equipment integration.

Classroom Wet Areas

We design and install joinery for classroom sinks and wet zones, ensuring surfaces are moisture-resistant and easy to maintain. These areas are built with laminate or melamine finishes to withstand frequent use and support learning activities in early childhood and primary environments.

Why Choose Joinery for Education Spaces?

Joinery in educational settings must withstand daily wear and retain a consistent, professional appearance. JB Joinery offers in-house manufacturing using high-quality melamine, veneer, and laminate finishes for long-term durability.

Our team is experienced in scheduling fitouts during school breaks, coordinating around term calendars to reduce disruption. We deliver reliable quality that supports safety, performance, and budget alignment with every item manufactured to order.

Yes, we can match veneer joinery to flooring or other timber elements. Our in-house team takes care to align grain, tone, and finish across surfaces for a cohesive final look.

We recommend hardwoods and other timbers that handle moisture and weather well, such as cedar or accoya. We’ll guide you based on your location, finish preference, and performance requirements.

Samples can be reviewed at our Christchurch premises. Once we’ve reviewed your plans or quote request, we can provide guidance on what to view and compare.

We support design detailing after a quote has been accepted. While we are not a design service, we work closely with clients/architects and contractors to finalise specifications and material selections.
